Our CSR approach supports the NI Water vision and strategic objectives. As part of NI Water we offer the opportunity to volunteer and work on activities which help the planet & environment, people and our communities

Our Cares challenge programme allows employees to volunteer for events in the community with over 1400 employees having helped over 90 different community groups across N Ireland. Over 10,000 hours of volunteering. We have an extensive Schools education programmes and our team are often seen out on our Waterbus!

Our ‘From Little Ripples’ initiative has allowed employees to choose their own volunteering project. We called it ‘Little Ripples’ because there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act of kindness creates a ripple with no end! Our colleagues showed passion, enthusiasm and commitment to helping their causes which have included including Cara Friend, Castlecaulfield Horticultural Society, Ark Housing (Men’s Shed) and Mindwise.

Hear from Peter Exley, Communications Manager at NI Water about his job and the Cares challenge programme:

Our Chief Executive Sara Venning is President of WaterAid NI, and we have tremendous commitment to the charity. Recent funds have been dedicated to a project in Malawi, where 1 in 3 people don’t have access to clean water. The project aims to improve the health of women, girls, and children by providing access to clean water, decent sanitation, and good hygiene in their communities.
